Kherson State Plant «Pallada» has an interesting life. It was founded in 1936 under title «Dockstroy», and then it was renamed «Kherson Shipyard» in 1944 and «Kherson Shipbuilding Yard «Pallada» in 1970. The plant was affiliated to the Kherson shipbuilding production association in the capacity of the independent organization department. Kherson State Plant «Pallada» obtained its present name, full legal and economic independence in 1998. But regardless of name and subordination, during all the period since its foundation and up to now 
Kherson State Plant «Pallada» has been a unique plant, at which up-to-day floating docks of reinforced concrete and composite frame are made, many of these docks do not have analog in the world dock building practice. Assimilated by the plant technology of joining thin-walled units of reinforced concrete pontoon with steel sidewalls, caisson free longitudinal and lateral joining of the floating docks from separate parts make it possible for Kherson State Plant «Pallada» to create docks and other stationary constructions. They amaze by their dimensions and their strength characteristics make it possible to tow them to any ports on the globe. Created at Kherson State Plant «Pallada» floating and composite docks are well-known all over the world. Many of these docks are unique; they have no analogues in the world dock building practice. They work successfully in the countries with different climatic conditions including Russia (Kola Peninsula, Kamchatka, Far East, and the Baltic Sea), the Caspian Sea region in Azerbaijan, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, Croatia, Bulgaria and other countries.
The products of our plant have always been competitive and demanded at the world market. The constructive staff of the plant and the plant in whole was repeatedly awarded the State Prizes in science and technology, and also high Prizes of Ukrainian and International rating organizations. That indicates that the unique technology and construction were introduced into the industry by the plant while creating the floating docks and other floating and stationary constructions.
