The operation conditions of a pontoon quay – coastal water areas.
The pontoons can be towed to the place where they will be installed, sea disturbance limited to 5, with 12 columns and 4 connecting sections loaded on board (sea disturbance limited to 5).
At the place of their installation the columns will be put down on the sea bottom by the floating crane through the shafts in the pontoon. Through each of the columns a pile will be rammed in the sea bottom. The reinforcing steel net will be put down inside each column (0.5 m from the sea bottom); that joint is to be made monolithic under water. The pile will be welded to the steel parts of the column in the top part of the pontoon, then reinforced and made monolithic. Each column will be filled with gravel. Thus the pontoon will change its floating position into that of gravity. The rest of the pontoons should be installed in a line one after another forming a quay wall. The pontoons are to be connected with each other with special steel ramp sections.
The type of the pontoon – right-angled, with vertical ends, reinforced concrete, gravity type, supposed to be put down and fixed on the sea bottom with fence posts, piles, and ballast loading. Register Class – Ê
R3 Pontoon.
The pontoon complies with the Regulations of the Classification and Construction of Sea-going Vessels, issued in 2007, including amendments made by 2009, and with the Regulations of the Hull Construction of Sea-going Vessels and Floating Facilities with the Usage of Reinforced Concrete, issued in 2000.
Installing the pontoon and its columns, ramming the piles in, and making the column nodes monolithic are to be done by the Customer at the base.

REINFORCED CONCRETE PONTOON 12 X 2.7 X 1.2 M
General information:
- The pontoon is designed in accordance with “Regulations of classification and sea vessels construction” and “Regulations of hull constructions for sea vessels and floating facilities with usage of reinforced concrete” of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
Principal data:
- Purpose – the pontoon is to be used as the foundation for the making of a quay for the regular anchorage of small cutters and yachts of 50 t displacement, and also for providing them with fresh water, electric power and cable television.
- The pontoon has no register class. The project is approved by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
- The type of the floating craft – a floating pontoon of a closed type, reinforced concrete, non-self-contained regarding power supply.
- For the making of quays the pontoon should be additionally equipped with an anchor gear, decking, hand railing, etc. The equipment, fittings, gears, systems, electric power supply, and requisition to be mounted on quays while assembling a quay line out of pontoons are not to be delivered together with the pontoon and should be produced and mounted by the owners according to their documentation where the pontoons will be located. Each pontoon is to be delivered with knuckle pins of a hinge joint gear (2 in number).- The location areas: the Black Sea, a closed water area with the wave height of no more than 0.5 m.
Principal characteristics:
- The displacement of the pontoon complete with the superstructure – 22.65 t.
- Pontoon dimensions: length – 12 m; outside width – 2.7 m; height – 1.2 m. The pontoon is divided into 4 watertight compartments. All deck openings for access to the compartments are closed by means of watertight manhole covers. The stability of pontoon complies with the Register Regulations.
- The pontoon in operation as a part of the quay remains afloat and has positive stability in case of emergency flooding of any one compartment.
